Our school provides opportunities for students, staff and parents to know and celebrate their Catholic faith. This is done through the religious life of our school. Members of our community experience a rich liturgical and prayer life, celebration of the Sacraments, faith formation, social outreach activities, and opportunities to share faith with each other and with youth from other schools in the Archdiocese.
Students at St Christopher’s Catholic Primary School Holsworthy are encouraged to participate in the Catholic life of the school through prayer and involvement in the parish. Students attend whole school celebrations including feast day Masses, Mother’s, Father’s and Grandparents’ Day Liturgies and Masses. Students also attend grade Liturgical celebrations in the Catholic Church located on the school grounds.
Our Family and Faith Program builds a strong partnership with children and their families and aims at connecting families to the faith life of the school. Some initiatives include sacramental craft, parent involvement in whole school celebrations and SPaR which is an opportunity for parents to Stop, Pray and Reflect with God and their children.
Staff nurture their own faith and the faith of the school community by giving witness to Christ each and every day. Staff are given opportunities to express and build their faith through weekly staff prayer, staff retreats and faith formation experiences.
St Christopher’s Catholic Primary School Holsworthy provides opportunities for students, staff and parents to know and celebrate our Catholic faith. Students participate in the morning prayer assembly every week and attend whole school and grade Masses every term. Years 3–6 also have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation once a term.
Students take part in fundraising initiatives to support Christian organisations such as Catholic Care, Caritas, Mission Australia, the Charitable Works Fund, St Vincent de Paul and the Catholic Education Foundation. These initiatives are brought to life by our teachers and student leaders through fun school days such as Crazy Sock Day, Pyjama Day and Bazaar Day. Our Junior Joeys group also leads the school in taking part in various other community outreach programs such as the Winter Appeal, Project Compassion and the Christmas Appeal.
